Product Description
Premium Sialon Ceramic Cutting Tools – Custom High-Precision Inserts with Exceptional Hardness, Toughness & Wear Resistance
Custom Made Sialon Cutting Tools from Sialon Ceramics are superior high-performance ceramic cutting tools manufactured from advanced Sialon ULTRA™ silicon nitride-based ceramics (Si₃Al₃O₃N₅). Since 1986, these tools have delivered unmatched performance thanks to high-quality raw materials, unique chemical composition (substitution of silicon by aluminum and nitrogen by oxygen) and proprietary manufacturing technology – resulting in properties far superior to pure silicon nitride or Si₃N₄.
Available in four premium grades (ULTRA-001 to ULTRA-004), they offer exceptional hardness (Vickers 12.7–15.0 GPa), flexural strength (580–1,020 MPa), fracture toughness (4–7 MPa·m¹/²), heat shock resistance (up to 900 °C) and excellent thermal conductivity (23–54 W/(m·K)). Zero water absorption, high Young’s modulus (270–300 GPa) and volume resistivity >10¹⁴ Ω·cm make them ideal for high-speed machining, precision turning, milling and cutting of hard materials, aerospace components, automotive parts and high-temperature applications.
Benefits include dramatically longer tool life, superior surface finish, reduced tool wear, lower machining costs and the ability to maintain sharpness at elevated temperatures where carbide tools fail. They are also used in combination with Sialon ULTRA™ extrusion dies for copper/brass (new ultrasonic die technology available). Fully custom-made to your drawings – inserts, holders, full tooling solutions – with fast quotation and competitive pricing.
These premium sialon ceramic cutting tools represent the next generation of technical ceramics for demanding machining environments. View Sialon Ceramic Cutting Tools – upload your drawing for a custom quote today. Quality warranty included.
