XICRU™ Specialized Crucibles for Resistance Furnaces

XICRU™ Specialized Crucibles for Resistance Furnaces

XICRU™ Specialized Crucibles for Resistance Furnaces
Our resistance furnace crucibles are meant for melting aluminum and zinc alloy and have great thermal efficiency and fracture resistance for continuous industrial use. Controlled porosity lowers moisture absorption and thermal shock in our crucibles. It is key because quick heating of a moisture-laden crucible might cause catastrophic failure.

XICRU® Properties

  • Temperature range of 620-920 °C
  • Maximum diameter 1525 mm x Height 1050 mm!
  • Our Series Resistance Furnaces Crucibles work well in melting aluminum and zinc alloys.
  • low thermal expansion coefficients (4.1×10⁻⁶/°C).

XICRU™ Specialized Crucibles for Resistance Furnaces – Melting Aluminium & Zinc Alloys at 620–920°C with Exceptional Thermal Efficiency & Fracture Resistance.

XICRU™ Specialized Crucibles for Resistance Furnaces are premium high-performance ceramics manufactured from advanced Sialon (Si₃Al₃O₃N₅) and sintered silicon carbide, specially engineered for resistance furnace melting of aluminium and zinc alloys. They deliver outstanding thermal efficiency, controlled porosity (minimising moisture absorption and thermal shock cracking), low thermal expansion (4.1×10⁻⁶/°C) and superior fracture resistance for continuous industrial operation.

Maximum operating range: 620–920 °C (heat shock resistance up to 900 °C in advanced grades). These crucibles are ideal for Striko Westomat dosing furnaces (450–3,100 kg capacity) in die casting and gravity casting lines, ensuring clean, contaminant-free metal transfer. They integrate perfectly with Sialon immersion heaters and ultrasonic degassing systems.

Key technical properties (ULTRA™ grades 001–004):

  • Bulk density: 3.1–3.3 g/cm³
  • Water absorption: 0 %
  • Flexural strength: 580–1,020 MPa
  • Vickers hardness: 12.7–15.0 GPa
  • Fracture toughness: 4–7 MPa·m¹/²
  • Thermal conductivity: 23–54 W/(m·K)
  • Heat shock resistance: up to 900 °C
  • Maximum size: Ø1,525 mm × height 1,050 mm

Advantages include extended service life (customers report 2–3 years), drastically reduced maintenance/cleaning costs, best price/performance ratio and complete chemical inertness in molten aluminium/zinc environments. Since 1986, these crucibles have been the reliable choice for resistance furnace applications. View XICRU™ Resistance Furnace Crucibles – custom shapes, sizes and lids available on request. Standard 12-month warranty against chemical attack.

XICRU™ Crucibles are premium isostatic-pressed crucibles for high-temperature melting of aluminium, zinc, copper, gold, zinc oxide distillation and more. All models are available in very large sizes (up to Ø1525 mm) and come with our standard 12-month warranty.
