Product Description
Sialon Rotor, Impeller & Shaft for Molten Aluminium Degassing – Graphite-Free, Quick/Threaded Coupling, 650–1400°C, 12-Month Warranty
Sialon ULTRA™ Rotor, Impeller & Shaft assemblies are the leading graphite-free solution for rotary and ultrasonic degassing of molten aluminium. The complete unit consists of a high-strength Sialon shaft with quick or threaded coupling plus a precisely engineered impeller. The impeller geometry injects and evenly disperses fine bubbles of inert gas (optionally with chlorine addition to remove alkali metals) for optimal hydrogen removal and metal purification.
These components operate reliably from 650 to 1400 °C and excel thanks to exceptional non-wetting properties (no metal adhesion or buildup), outstanding corrosion/erosion resistance, and superior mechanical durability – delivering dramatically longer service life than traditional graphite rotors and shafts. They are ideal for furnaces, Sialon ladles, in-line degassing systems, and integration with hydrogen content measurement devices.
Available in four premium Sialon ULTRA™ grades (001–004) with the following key properties:
- Bulk density: 3.1–3.3 g/cm³
- Water absorption: 0 %
- Flexural strength: 580–1,020 MPa
- Vickers hardness: 12.7–15.0 GPa
- Fracture toughness: 4–7 MPa·m¹/²
- Young’s modulus: 270–300 GPa
- Coefficient of linear thermal expansion (40–800 °C): 3.2–3.5 ×10⁻⁶/°C
- Thermal conductivity (20 °C): 23–54 W/(m·K)
- Heat shock resistance: 550–900 °C
- Volume resistivity (20 °C): >10¹⁴ Ω·cm
Since 1986, Sialon Ceramics has been the trusted choice for molten non-ferrous applications, offering the best price/performance ratio and minimal maintenance.
