Product Description
Sialon Silicon Nitride Galvanizing Hooks for Hot Dip Galvanizing – Extreme Durability in Molten Non-Ferrous Metal Handling
Sialon Silicon Nitride Galvanizing Hooks are premium Strong Sialon II™ silicon nitride ceramic components specially engineered for hot dip galvanizing of non-ferrous metals (especially aluminium and its alloys) and surface modification of aluminium or steel parts. Manufactured from the highest-grade Sialon ULTRA™ material, these hooks deliver unmatched durability, corrosion resistance and performance in aggressive molten metal environments where conventional steel or cast-iron hooks degrade rapidly.
Key advantages include exceptional thermal shock resistance (550–900 °C), non-wetting surfaces that completely prevent metal adhesion and buildup, zero water absorption, high mechanical strength (flexural strength 580–1,020 MPa, fracture toughness 4–7 MPa·m¹/²) and Vickers hardness 12.7–15.0 GPa. The low thermal conductivity (23–54 W/(m·K)) combined with excellent chemical inertness results in drastically reduced maintenance, minimal cleaning and service lives far superior to traditional materials.
Ideal for continuous hot dip galvanizing lines, dipping racks, hanging fixtures and general molten non-ferrous metal handling. They are also used alongside other Sialon components such as immersion heater tubes, riser tubes, thermocouple sheaths, crucibles and ladles in aluminium die-casting and galvanizing plants. Full material properties: bulk density 3.1–3.3 g/cm³, Young’s modulus 270–300 GPa, coefficient of linear thermal expansion 3.2–3.5 ×10⁻⁶/°C, volume resistivity >10¹⁴ Ω·cm, heat shock resistance 550–900 °C.
These hooks represent the pinnacle of ceramic engineering for the galvanizing industry – lower downtime, higher throughput and dramatically extended component life.
