XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles

XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles

XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles
We design our induction furnace crucibles for the tough thermal and electromagnetic conditions of electromagnetic melting. The crucibles help low-temperature aluminum alloy smelting and high-temperature copper, gold, and silver refining. The material composition permits high-frequency induction heating for uniform heat distribution without thermal losses.

XICRU® Properties

  • Temperature range of 620-1400 °C
  • Maximum diameter 1525 mm x Height 1050 mm!
  • Our Series Induction Furnace Crucibles work well in aluminium, copper, gold, silver, and rare metal smelting.
  • low thermal expansion coefficients (4.1×10⁻⁶/°C).

XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles for Electromagnetic Melting of Aluminium, Copper, Gold & Rare Metals – 620-1400°C, Up to Ø1525 mm, Low Thermal Expansion

XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles are specially engineered for high-frequency induction melting in electromagnetic conditions. They excel in low-temperature aluminium alloy smelting (660.3 °C) and high-temperature refining of copper, gold, silver and rare metals up to 1400 °C. Manufactured from advanced Sialon (Si₃Al₃O₃N₅) and sintered silicon carbide ceramics, they ensure uniform heat distribution with minimal thermal losses, outstanding thermal shock resistance and exceptional durability in aggressive molten non-ferrous environments.

Key advantages include low thermal expansion (3.2–3.5 ×10⁻⁶/°C), zero water absorption, high chemical stability and low thermal conductivity for efficient energy use and long service life. Maximum dimensions reach Ø1525 mm × 1050 mm height – among the largest induction crucibles available. They integrate seamlessly with induction heating systems and complement Sialon ULTRA™ components such as immersion heaters, riser tubes and degassing systems.

Full technical specifications (ULTRA™ grades 001–004):

  • Bulk density: 3.1–3.3 g/cm³
  • Flexural strength: 580–1,020 MPa
  • Vickers hardness: 12.7–15.0 GPa
  • Fracture toughness: 4–7 MPa·m¹/²
  • Thermal conductivity (20 °C): 23–54 W/(m·K)
  • Heat shock resistance: up to 900 °C
  • Volume resistivity (20 °C): >10¹⁴ Ω·cm

Since 1986, these crucibles deliver the best price/performance ratio with minimal maintenance and fast delivery (typically 4 weeks). View XICRU™ Induction Furnace Crucibles – custom shapes, sizes and lids available on request. Standard 12-month warranty against chemical attack.
