SSiC Sintered Silicon Carbide Crucibles

Our high-temperature sintered silicon carbide crucibles can withstand temperatures of up to 1,900 degrees Celsius (in a controlled atmosphere), offering excellent resistance to chemical erosion and thermal shock.

The ability to accommodate temperatures as high as 1,650°C, significantly above the melting point of most alloys, ensures the safe use of the product without the risk of contaminating the molten metal. Furthermore, our crucibles offer superior mechanical strength at very high temperatures, allowing them to be moved around safely for operations such as casting.  

XICAR® Properties

  • Maximum temperature of 1650 °C  in air and up to 1,900 °C in a controlled atmosphere
  • Maximum length up to 3,000 mm with a maximum OD of 300 mm
  • XICAR® thermocouple protection tubes are for both direct as well as indirect temperature sensing in molten metal (e.g. furnace wall or roof) temperature reading with Type R or S elements in molten brass, copper, cast iron, stainless steel or silicon metal
  • For temperature measurements in non-ferrous launders or pouring troughs

Sialon Dosing Tubes | Silicon Nitride Dosing Tubes | Sialon Westofen Dosing Tubes | Westofen Dosing Tubes | Striko Westofen Dosing TubesAs standard Aluminium Titanate dosing tubes have a relatively short service life (life span) and often clog during intensive use in Striko Westomat dosing furnaces, we have developed a low thermal conductivity Sialon dosing tube. These tubes come with a standard 12 months warranty against chemical attack.

The Westomat crucible dosing furnace is a clean, closed warming and dosing system for liquid aluminum. Depending on the system, the metal is always removed below the surface of the bath and is therefore automatically fed to the casting machine or casting mold free of contaminants.

Setting up and operating the system is easy with the silicon nitride Striko Sialon Westofen dosing tubes. And that with extremely low cleaning and maintenance costs. Its lifespan is proverbial: Our customers still use our riser tubes after 2-3 years in service. The Westomat furnace can also be heated with Sialon Immersion heaters. It can be integrated into any die casting system, but also in gravity casting. With variants from 450 kg to 3,100 kg capacity, the Westomat covers all cast part sizes.The hydrogen content of the molten aluminium can now be easily measured by using our new hydrogen content measurement device which has been optimized for ultrasonic degassing.
